Riddle
Here is a riddle for ya...
He was such a tolerating guy
Constantly shoved in a warm damp cave
His face sucked off every day
Then thrown into a pit of the others
Swirling in a foaming sea for hours
Giant gods scrubbing and scratching
Left in the sun to dry
The then new day starts again

I've given this a lot of thought, and I can come to only one conclusion.
We are speaking of...
a shirt. Of course, it is a shirt that is dried in the sun, not in some drying machine.
I hope I got it right...
