Just a Simple Drink of Water

I seem to be notorious for experiencing some of the most repulsive, appalling, and down right disgusting
experiences when encountering the very creature that is so unholy I can barely speak of its name. The Earwig. I remember the day like it was a mere 5 minutes ago. All seemed to be in its normal place.according to the naked eye- my alarm clock went off and I got dressed. I couldn't help but feel a bit unsettled due to the fact that there had
been an outrageous surplus of earwigs in my house that week. However, upon finishting my normal routine, I decided I would get a drink of water.
It would have been my first drink of the day, so you could imagine I was rather thirsty. The kitchen was dimly lit, so I could only see a faint glow illuminating the basic form of the room through the light of the cool morning. I couldn't quite see the facet, though I did know where it was. So, blindly through pure muscle memory, I made my way through the dark. I reached for the knob and turned on the water. I bent down and put my face next to the stream of water as my lip was slightly touching the facet. An out-of-place feeling came about me as I felt a strange tickle on my lip. I quickly recoiled, and there I saw it. A faint impression of a fat earwig with beady eyes swayed about its pinchers, as to intimidate or taunt me. And let me tell you now my friend, it did.
My eyes became inflamed with red bloody rage. I would not stand for this! I wanted my water and I wanted it RIGHT THEN.
I swiftly reached for some Windex that was placed to the side of the sink. I aimed, and fired. It seemed almost as if the light of ValHalla was bursting fourth rays of light. Rapid streams of blue justice rained upon the filthy beast. Its grip loosened and it was hurtled down into the sink of its impending doom. I immediately turned on the water and watched the final moments of its life swiftly slide away down the drain. In my gut the feeling of soon-to-be victory came about me.
I then knew the final deed had to be done. It seemed almost in slow motion when I watched the demise of my petty opponent. I flipped the switch to the garbage disposal. To this day I can almost still hear the sound of its little soul screaming in painful agony. The events that went on that day were gruesome, unfortunate, and possibly disturbing- however, they were done for the greater good! I will never forget that fateful battle for my simple drink of water.
